Make Villains Great Again!

A new alternative comic series intended to challenge and eventually replace the SJW-converged comics of DC and Marvel.

Alt★Hero

Alt★Hero is a world not too terribly different than our own. It is a world where the Wehrmacht generals overthrew Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in 1939, and where the first atomic bomb was dropped on the order of Reichskanzler Jodl on Soviet territory in 1944, leading to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1956. It is a world where Japan attacked Australia instead of Pearl Harbor and China occupies the Korean Peninsula. It is a world of four superpowers, where the European Union rivals the United States of America for wealth and influence, and where China and Russia possess the two most formidable militaries on the planet.

And Alt★Hero is a world of newly discovered superhumans.

Alt★Hero

No one knows why rumors of individuals with seemingly impossible abilities first began to appear in the early 1960s, but in 1972, Linus Pauling conclusively proved the existence of a new breed of beings with superhuman capabilities that were genetically distinct from conventional humanity. Pauling named this new breed Homo Sapiens Sequens and won an unprecedented third Nobel Prize for this discovery. Assisted by funding from the National Science Foundation and the International Monetary Fund, he established the Institute for Enhanced Human Development to study them.

Some scientists believe Homo Sequens to be a consequence of the advent of atomic weapons, others consider it to be an indicator of alien intervention. Optimists consider them to be the next step in the evolution of Man, while pessimists fear that they will inevitably bring an end to the human race. Regardless, what is clear is that Homo Sequens is real, that it is rare, and that its individual members are invaluable to the government, or private organization, that can effectively harness their wide range of talents.
Alt★Hero

The various world powers have taken different approaches to trying to harness the superhumans in their midst. Both China and Russia draft all of its citizens who are discovered to possess superpowers into their militaries and boast the most formidable collection of superhumans yet known. The European Union has established the Global Justice Initiative in the hopes that Homo Sequens will bring about world peace, while the United States of America has joined 44 other UN Member States in signing the Singapore Superhuman Treaty, which is part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Advanced Human Rights and turns over the management of its superhuman citizens to the United Nations Superhuman Protection Council.

Alt★Hero

The UN-SPC guarantees the political rights and provides gainful employment to the superhumans who fall under its authority, and forbids them from joining any military except as an adjunct to a UN peacekeeping force. It maintains a small, permanent force known as the Peace Squad which is usually used to confront abuses by militaries belonging to Member States that are not signatories to the Singapore Treaty.

However, not all Americans who are superhumans are interested in being protected by the United Nations, and it is estimated that more than seventy percent of all Homo Sequens who are American citizens have managed to remain unidentified and unregistered.

Alt★Hero

And there is no organization that is unhappier about the Singapore Superhuman Treaty and the limits imposed upon American citizens by the United Nations Superhuman Protection Council than the U.S. military.

I’m down. Going to order the omnibus soon.

    • william_the_conqueror

There’s THREE omnibuses now. Kinda defeats the nomenclature, Omnibus, lol. Anyway I’ve purchased all three hardcovers now.

      • positron1

True (I’m a Latin nerd too).

  • Just pledged, really looking forward to seeing the Rebel figurine. I thought I’d heard it all and then Vox posted about Marvel removing cigarettes from the cover art of re-releases. These comics SJWs are Stalin’s children. They’ll erase anything they don’t like out of history, including ME, YOU and YOUR FAMILY.

    • shrekfuck420

yeah cuz u suck, the person you are talking to sucks, and your family sucks.

      • codemonkey

thank you for your pain SJW. Your tears of suffering are delicious.

      • strawberryman

SJW projection. Fragile shrekfuck420 assumes that “you suck” is a devastating attack because it would devastate him. Weak.

      • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

Remember kids! always wear a helmet, whether you are skateboarding or bicycling. Head trauma is an ugly thing, with potentially devastating long-term mental and psychological effects.

      • Chance Boudreaux

Go smoke some more weed to remove your pain at sucking so hard.

        • Rick Derris

I think shrekfuck420 is smoking pole in addition to his weed.

Wait – did I just assume xirs gender?

      • Carl Philipp Gaebler

Wherever would I be without the respect of shrekfuck420?

    • Nakota Publishing

I recently read an article on censorship of anime and manga in Japan and other countries where it’s distributed. One of the interviewees remarked that the one subject that really made the Americans lose their minds was smoking.

      • william_the_conqueror

My my my. The new Be A Villain reward looks mighty MIGHTY attractive. But $1500…. Can they not make it $999, lol.

        • I’d have been tempted if they charged $666. But, alas, it was not to be.

  • Loetzen

You know, it is possible to be Alt-Right and still think that promoting smoking in Disney entertainment devoted to children is a crappy thing to do. I loathe every single thing about Disney and Marvel these days, and I think that the company turned evil pretty shortly after Walt died, but I still think that getting rid of smoking in children’s entertainment is a good thing. Alt-Right =/= libertarian.

    I don’t care if Disney gets rid of smoking. I care that it’s anti-white, anti-male, anti-straight, etc.

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

She’s a French model in France. Having her not smoke would be anti-truth.

      • Loetzen

I specified that Disney entertainment for children should IMO not promote smoking. That obviously does not include this comic book, which is ostensibly for grown-up readers.

As for this character herself, I am less put off by her smoking (though I do find that unattractive in women) than by the fact that she seems to be perpetuating the “kick-ass female-who-can-beat-up-guys-many-times-her-size-and-weight” trope, which is Leftist through and through.

(Yes, I know, she has “powers” — but I’d rather her power be being a good mother, and that the ass-kicking in this comic book be left to men. That, it seems, would be more along traditional gender lines, which is what, IMO, the Alt-Right should be in part about.)

        • Carl Philipp Gaebler

Ah… I missed the specification. Sure, different rules apply for-kids.
I’m not too worried about “perpetuating Leftist tropes” because I know too much about the author. He is more contemptuous of that particular trope than most, and his female fictional characters are still feminine, so I’d more expect him to subvert the trope in some way. For example, I’m guessing that the police are trying to capture her precisely because she does not want to use her superpowers to fight, and they’re trying to conscript her by force.

        • Overgrown Hobbit

Oh, you so lack imagination. If we go your route, we’d lose the opportunity for Dynamique to meet her better half, and realize that what would really fufill her dreams and make the world a better place is to get married, have a bunch of kids, and be the coolest mom on the block.

          …..and let the triggering commence.

          • Carl Philipp Gaebler

That would also be so awesome. Feminists told my mom she was a traitor to women when she wanted to quit her tech career and be a housewife… she laughed at them and proceeded to give birth 8 times.

          • positron1

I would hazard a guess that she’s roughly 8x happier than those naysayers now too.

          • But female superheroes need to be flawless goddesses praised by even the villains for being so absolutely perfect! It is known!

Seriously, though, I like that she’s starting out as a smoker. They can have her quit as her character develops over time, or they can have the smoking be a source of tension/comedy. How fun would it be to have some big bruiser superhero with minor asthma go into coughing fits because she hid her cig too quickly and the smoke got into his lungs? Or how compelling could it be to have her stare longingly at a pack of cigarettes while rubbing her pregnant belly?

          • Pierre Savoie

How will a European woman know that? For it to be safe to be a mother, she must be taken care of or amass some financial security. But Europe wants to tax her, wants to de-genderize her and make both male and female work like sexless worker ants on the anthill. In Socialism, your salary belongs to someone else _before you are born_! The need to spend tax-money on others is great, particularly among unskilled untrainable young Muslim invaders who benefit from generations of cousin-marriages and whose leaders saw fit never to stop them because Muhammad was in one…

        • ThaddeusWS

She’s a model. A French model. If you can keep her from nose candy, twenty four seven debauchery, and gaining weight you’re ahead of the game.

        • Bo Bryson

You are so sexist. Let me guess ,.. your a white male!??

          • Azure Helios

            Pot, kettle.

Really, is being black such a bad thing? Or being white? Go defecate in your own thread next time.

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

clearly he’s a member of the subspecies that built everything, invented everything, and created the greatest and most powerful culture the world has ever seen. Sexism was part of the progress, and the lack of it is the reason we haven’t been back to the moon.

  • Alex

I applaud the balls it takes to try and “replace” the Big Two but I hope you guys realise that’s not happening in this life or the next

    • Alex

Hell I doubt you’ll make it beyond Image, Valiant or Dark Horse comics

      • Byron Grimes

Hey, look who’s scared of what might happen? You realize if the get NEAR the IDW and Dynamite level, comics stores will want it? Are you afraid of seeing VOX DAY on the shelves of your local comic shop?

        • Alex

Not particularly (ironically despite how much I like them I dont even HAVE a local comic book shop)
I just genuinely seriously doubt it’ll happen

          • gererally pattoned

You worry a lot about other people’s failure, and, if not, why are you here posting “concern?”

Projection of your own failure fears?

          • Eumaios

You’re spending an awful lot of time telling us how it won’t happen, in conversation after conversation. Either you have a life meaningless enough to justify you spending this much time and energy arguing with this many different people about why an interesting project “totally won’t work” or you have alternate motives. I detect shilling. Irrelevant regardless. This is happening, so buckle up boyo 🙂

      • Fuzzums Wuzzums

I agree that it will never replace them but the big 2 have never been as weak as they are now. One is staying afloat through their cinematic universe, the other is staying afloat through video games. The cumulative value of the IP of these companies are worth probably tens of billions of dollars but the comic-book appendages are just corpses that are being dragged along. Seeing how it’s barely 1 day old and you already compared it to Image, Valiant, and Dark Horse (which probably sell more comics than Marvel and DC combined) I’d say it has a pretty good shot.

        • Alex

          disagree strongly
while Marvel is a shitfest right now, DC is at its strongest it has been in years

          • Fuzzums Wuzzums

DC was down in the gutter while Marvel was soaring high (comparatively). DC remained where it was but Marvel plummeted to depths unknown. DC is not stronger than it’s been in years, it is as strong as it’s always been.

          • Alex

Being someone who’s read everything DC has published since 2011 (within main continuity anyway), I can tell you for certain that’s wrong

        • Alex

I also didn’t compare it to them, I said I doubt it’d even reach their level, let alone the big 2

          • Fuzzums Wuzzums

Yes you did. You said: “I doubt you’ll make it beyond Image, Valiant or Dark Horse “. That’s a comparison.

          • Alex

            sure but
            not a positive one
not one that in any way suggests it “has a pretty good shot”

        • Alex

I won’t deny it’s possible for them to attain that level, stranger things have happened, but I’d be surprised if this ever really took off as a company or IP

        • Zack Little

‘(which probably sell more comics than Marvel and DC combined)’

Hate to tell you, but that’s really not true.

At their very best, IDW, Valiant, and Dark Horse don’t even get half of what either Marvel or DC.

Yes, the comic pie is smaller than it used to be, but DC and Marvel are still eating far more than anyone else. Nobody else comes close.

          • kv11

It’s not about replacing Marvel and DC and dominating a market, it’s more about “hey, don’t like it? Well we can crowdfund independents and produce our own now, we’ll be able to give feedback to people who are actually gonna listen because they’re making this for us”.

      • Overgrown Hobbit

Go to any bookstore or public library and check the size (shelf space) of the American big two socially justice converged graphic novels vs. the still-free-to-tell-stories manga. Keep in mind that in order to be sold in the U.S. market they have to first be translated from Japanese into English.

All Castalia House Comics needs to do is demonstrate that a U.S. alternative is viable. Just as the original manga translators and importers did as well.

CAN they do it? I’m willing to take a gamble and predict, “yes.”

        But it’s obviously possible.

      • Luis Matos II

You don’t need to replace them, just amass some of the customers they’ve disenfranchised. My local pizza shop will never take down Pizza Hut and Dominoes, but he doesn’t need to, still making customers happy and making a tidy profit.

    • eskyman

The Big Two are busy putting themselves out of business, and the NFL is doing the same. Sure, they’ll linger on for a while longer, but nobody wants to see that crap.

      • JonnyG

Sure they are buddy. Sure they are.

        • Brigadon

Actually the ‘comic books’ side of marvel and DC have been posting losses for nearly a decade. Their films, property resells (merchandise) and IP licensing have been keeping their companies afloat for quite some time. Their only print media ‘profit’ comes from their graphic novels, which are generally short runs of comics reprinted from 10-25 years ago.

The ‘new comic book’ side only exists to maintain the IP and is considered ‘sunk cost’, like advertising, for maintaining franchise popularity.

    • Wanderer

Yeah, it’s as likely to happen as a clown like Donald Trump getting elected president.

    • Durandel

Typical SJW projecting his defeatist mindset… An expedition is a series of steps, boyo, not one giant leap.

The goal here is merely a first step, to build a base/community as a foundation to grow said base and to build further projects. As for taking out the big 2, that is not one of our goals. Our goal is to give those who don’t want the SJW garbage of Marvel and DC an alternative option. We don’t care whether Marvel and DC survive and thrive, or go into the ash bin of history. We care about a consumer base we think is being ignored.

      • Charles Perigord

Durandel – excellent attitude! If there’s a market for Marvel, so be it. If there’s an even bigger market for yours, then five years hence your books may be selling for a much lower price than theirs — due to greater demand and resulting lower production costs per book.

      • Alex

I am far from an SJW man, I’m just saying, seems unlikely

        • Eumaios

Irrelevant. Besides, on what statistical model do you base your assumptions?

      • Alex

“A new alternative comic series intended to challenge and eventually replace the SJW-converged comics of DC and Marvel.”

the word replace seems pretty prominent there

    • Part of the reason for that is their distribution monopoly with Diamond- but read our “Comic Revolution” articles on the Castalia House blog… Winter is coming.

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

Don’t know, don’t care, I will probably enjoy it more than anything that’s come out of either of them.

    • strawberryman

“In this life or the next”

You are being defeatist and are overestimating the enemy.

Marvel and DC comics are on a downward trajectory. Alternative comics are on an upward trajectory. Sooner or later the Big Two will be surpassed. If not by Alt Hero, then by something else in the future. Doesn’t even necessarily have to be right-wing comics, could be just something that isn’t excessively cultural marxist.

    • James Dixon

I’m sure CNN felt the same way about Fox News.

  • eskyman

OK, I’m in! Looking forward to some great stories with some great art, and none of the SJW crap that has made so much of our lives unbearable!

Oh, BTW- you don’t really have to put a whole lot of costume on the super-babes… just sayin’. (I remember Modesty Blaise did “the nailer,” where she’d flash her boobies, just long enough to immobilize the bad guys & get the drop on them! I’m sure Modesty wouldn’t mind some others using that trick!)

  • Alex

Also, have you guys potentially considered that comic stores might just refuse to stock your stuff on the basis they don’t agree with the message?

    • Zac Cashman

Frankly I’m betting it sells better then the marvel SJW crap that has been putting comic stores that buy it out of business.

So if they do stock it that’s great, if not they deserve to go out of business like so many of them are.

      • Alex

It might sell better than some Marvel books but not the big ones (Avengers etc.)

        • Zac Cashman

Actually even the avengers comics are only selling around 8-10 thousand copies at best anymore due to the sheer level of SJW BS being pushed in them.

Their average is under 5 thousand copies.

DC comics on the other hand (Superman, Batman etc…) are averaging 10x that if not more.

    • Donald Wheeler

There are two types of comic store – those that stock comics based on ideological preferences, and those that will be open in a few years. Pretty sure Vox doesn’t care too much about the former …

      • Alex

I seriously can’t see this taking off enough to shake up the market like that

    • Luis Matos II

I feel like comic books stores are a relic of a bygone era. They can be bypassed through new means and this book can still be quite profitable. Without diamond distribution, which is a pain in the neck for publishers and stores, you’d have to target shops individually. Vox, however, could sell this online with little to no overhead and spread his message to the target audience through mailing lists and meme magic. I can tell you, versus many of the independent comics that get funded on Kickstarter, this one has much better production values, ie art and coloring, and is amassing a much bigger set of eyes.

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

If the stores don’t stock them, they can ship copies directly, like they do with their traditional print volumes.

    • Or fear anonymous “activism” from SJW peaceful protesters to their entire stock?

  • Big Foot

    Looking forward to it!

  • Overgrown Hobbit

Showed the video to my yard ape. She turned to me and said, “We HAVE to get this.”

    No worries, kiddo!

  • Jonathon Davies

Pledged $15 of your American dollars.

  • Randolph Carter

Striking a woman? Why, that dastardly fellow! Someone should give him what for!

  • Danaë Teigen

This is really awesome and I am so on board. Also, thanks for turning me into a comic, haha. #IAmRebel
I am curious to see more details on what appears to be a battle between the EU character and the Identitarian Guard character. Identitarian Guard are the good guys IRL so I am hoping for a world class ass whoopin’ from them!

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

And the EU character is backed by Antifa… here’s hoping the Identitarians have backup!

      • Danaë Teigen

I wonder if Based Stickman will have an appearance in this anywhere. I know he has been working on his own series as well.

        • Carl Philipp Gaebler

My guess is, probably not a lot of Real People except a couple cameos… but that would be a cool cameo. Antifa will be explicitly involved in the “War In Paris” volume, though I don’t know if they’ll show up in the American stories.

        • Carl Philipp Gaebler

I’m guessing not a lot of Real People except a couple cameos, and not without permission… but that would be a cool cameo. Vox also said in a Periscope that it would funny to have a Mike Cernovich who can turn into a gorilla.

      • Johnny

looks to me like he’s fighting both sides. his other hand is on an antifa’s throat

        • Carl Philipp Gaebler

Oh… Nice catch! I guess he is keeping them apart.

        • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

Actually, it looks like he’s jerking off the black dude with his left hand. That guy has an ‘O’ face.

  • Matt Linder

    Good work Vox Day.

  • Horn of the Mark

Just noticed the Chuck Dixon backed the project. Assuming it’s THE Chuck Dixon, that is awesome. He’s one of the few good ones left in the comics industry proper–a true legend.

    • DrakeTungsten

Confirmed. And he’ll be writing VII, VIII, IX. 🙂

  • william_the_conqueror

On the blog, VD mentioned he’d give an option to get both hardcover and Rebel figurine. I’ve been holding out in order to get that option. Will this be added? That would really be great!

    • DrakeTungsten

Choose the Rebel figurine option, and later an add-on option for the hardcover will be available.

      • william_the_conqueror

        Thanks will do!

        • william_the_conqueror

          Done

          • Death Ray

I haven’t pledged yet, but can you tell me if shipping is included in the pledge level, or is more added at the end of the process?

          • Dave

            Shipping included per creator

          • DrakeTungsten

I ended up just doing both tiers. The system allows you to, and since the add-on second hardcover is only $10 more, and I didn’t see and add-on for the first hardcover, I didn’t want to wait and miss it.

          • william_the_conqueror

Yeah I’m figuring that’s the way to go. Seems Vox kinda forgot about making this clear… Unsurprisingly, given he must be quite busy with this + other project. … However, I’m quite sure several backers still wait for this option. Anyway I’ll just purchase both hardcovers now.

          • william_the_conqueror

Cannot follow you on Disqus. You’ve set a private profile which prevents it.

          • DrakeTungsten

Yeah, I thought it might be slightly safer to keep my profile private.

          • william_the_conqueror

            >> $150.00 Rebel Figurine…. includes the paperback, and digital editions, as well as the Rebel t-shirt.

I presume that means digital editions of the comics only? Or does this include the digital edition of the first novel too? Can somebody at the campaign amd/or Freestartr please clarify? Or did Vox already clarify in his blog?
            .

          • DrakeTungsten

Since that was written before there was a novel, I’d not expect that to have been included unless explicitly specified.

          • william_the_conqueror

I’ve added the $5. I want this to get to $100k anyway. I just have some pedantic inhibition to pay twice for stuff. Ocd, I know, lol.

          • DrakeTungsten

Same. I just never factored in the digital novel, assumed it wasn’t included.

      • william_the_conqueror

I’ve now purchased the third hardcover as well. I simply purchased the Rebel figurine $150, all the hardcovers 1+2+3 ($75+65+65), and the electronic novel ($5). Total $360, lol. And I haven’t read comics since I was a boy. Sold my Superman, Spiderman, Red Arrow, Green Lantern collection at 11 yo for 50p per (very used lol) issue.

        • DrakeTungsten

You didn’t get the paperbacks too? 😉

  • JonnyG

This is a hilarious parody which highlights all the ways the alt-right are insufferable. Well done!!

  • Leftist Sjw

Cowards can’t even make antifa be fighting nazi’s, just people with a fucking bootleg overwatch logo

    • dirk gently

      1. Antifa ARE Nazis, you moron.
      2. Are you triggered yet, snowflake.

    • Wanderer

They’re fighting Génération Identitaire and that’s their logo you ignorant faggot.

    • Fuzzums Wuzzums

      6.6/10. Above average trolling.

    • Dr.T

Somebody did not get the premise of this series. It would be pointless for all parties in this fight to be evil.

    • borderwalker

      Still not tired!

  • shrekfuck420

can you make a hero that prematurely ejaculates like us

    • Brigadon

Is it possible to prematurely ejaculate when you are masturbating? I would just think that SJW Pajama boys would consider that ‘efficient’.

  • egalitrix

God there is too much politics in comics these days, we need to replace it with more politics in comics!

    • Brigadon

In the end, Politics are simply Morality writ large… and what else is a Villain than someone who’s morality, and thus politics, are inimical to our own?

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

I don’t mind some degree of politics in comics, even if – gasp! – the author disagrees with me, as long as the story is good.
The examples of “politics in comics these days” that I have seen are……. not good.

    • Eumaios

It’s called counterbalance. Anything short of it will see your story lines gone for ever.

  • Death Ray

Can anyone tell me if the pledge amounts include shipping costs, or are those added in at the end of the process? So, for example, would a $30.00 pledge made for the paperback ultimately mean I was charged for $35.00 or $40.00?

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

He said in blog comments that they will cover the shipping. $30 is $30.

  • Suthrnboy

What do reality TV star groupie Trumpster Divers who graduated Summa Cum Loudmouth from Trump University do while they wait on their checks from the $25mil fraud settlement?

Attend graduate school at the I.S.I.S. School of Driving, of course!!!

    Nazi Trumps, Fuck Off!!!

    • F Harper

“Barely literate” is too kind for you.

      • Suthrnboy

        Thanks for the kind words!

Considering you support a trust fund baby draft dodger metrosexual who applies pansy orange pancake lady makeup every morning, I’ll take that as a “yuuuge” compliment!

What is Trumpy the Twitter Troll Clown hiding under all that makeup? His white skin?

        • Overgrown Hobbit

Transphobia. Misogyny. Cis-normative Other-shaming. Do the other girls in the warren know about your BadThink and Hate words?

          Sad.

          • Suthrnboy

Shouldn’t you be busy photoshopping your face onto a fake Time cover or getting your tray of Oxycontin and cigs ready for tonight’s Duck Dynasty binge fest or something?

          • AlFromBayShore

Don’t look now but three days after this funding campaign started, the goal has more than doubled. This is not only unexpected, this is completely awesome! I contributed at the paperback level and now, as a result of the additional contributions, I can get all the digital editions.

          • Suthrnboy

            Nice!

Perhaps you can use the thousands of unsold copies to help clean up after your nasty Hitler Youth rally circle jerks, mmmm?

          • AlFromBayShore

Unsold copies? There might be some unsold copies but the rate at which they surpassed their funding goal seems to indicate a need for a comic like this one. Think about it for a moment: If, five days ago, anyone had told you they would more than double their goal three days after starting the funding campaign, you probably would have laughed. These results have come as a tremendous shock to the backers.

And the “Hitler” thing… if you are going to be crude, nasty, and vulgar, at least be funny. Redd Foxx, the dude from “Full House”, and Rudy Ray Moore made sure their crude and crass content was funny. You should be more like them.

          • Suthrnboy

Since you seem to be a very credible spokesidiot for the new, more pajama boy, modern Nazi party, maybe you can clear something up for me?

Why do snowflake white supremacists support a NYC metrosexual trust fund baby who spends all morning, every morning covering up what he must consider to be a very embarrassing shade of white skin and turning it into a frightening shade of Oompah-Loompah with orange pancake lady makeup?

Also, did Trump get “Grab em by the pu$$y.” from the Dennis Hastert, Mark Foley, Larry Craig and Milo Yiannoupoulos penned “Guide to Conservative Foreplay”? Because that move makes zero sense from a heterosexual perspective.

            Thanks for your time!

          • AlFromBayShore

I’ve known of Trump since the late 70s. He’s been an iconic figure in NYC. When Trump Tower opened in the 80s I went. He hyped it up and it was fabulous. I remember when he would occasionally phone into the Regis and Kathy Lee Show. Those segments were always fun. He would call into the Howard Stern Show (after it moved to K-ROCK). As with his calls into Regis and Kathy, it was fun and, since it was Howard, it more edgy. He also went to Studio 54 (although the real Disco was at Paradise Garage on King Street and Club Zanzibar in Newark). The reason why I mentioned all this is that it is completely puzzling to me how people can associate him with racism and white supremacy. It only became that way when he became the nominee. And, as you know, Democrats labeling Republicans as either racists or Uncle Toms (if they’re Black) is merely a political tactic, nothing more.

The support of Trump results from three preferences: 1) Build the Wall in order to manage the borders and entry. Other nations do it why cannot the United States? I’ve never heard anyone call Mexico’s strict policy of immigration “racist. 2) Drain the Swamp in get rid of corruption created by the career bureaucrats who act as a government within and government as well as using the levers of power to reward their friends and cronies. 3) Trump is a culture warrior. He filled a void created by the GOP’s fecklessness and betrayals. This fecklessness and betrayal is either refusing to challenge the unfounded criticisms that come from the Left or cowing down in the face of such. Trump, unlike the GOP establishment, not only fights back, he is effective. Those three items are way so many people support him and, ultimately, voted for him.

          • Suthrnboy

            TL;DR.

What was it that got you all hot and bothered about Trumpy The Twitter Troll Clown the most?

Was it his ability to turn his corrupt business failings into government funded welfare for trust fund babies by avoiding Federal taxes?

Or was it his desire to screw his own daughter?

I’ll bet it was the 2nd one, wasn’t it, perv?

          • AlFromBayShore

He’s a local guy who managed both the difficulty of NYC politics as well as dealing with La Cosa Nostra. He also hangs out with and admires construction workers. These features are the opposite of the effete world of Beltway politics. As I said earlier, he fights and is quick on his feet.

          • Suthrnboy

I have a handy ammosexual graphic for you while you celebrate last night’s gun massacre while binge watching Sexual-Assault-R-Us, otherwise known as FoxNews.

            Enjoy! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/91cebb1e0701488931ad1e7b0bb9e295212d09ea1ffb9b8a31371524125f6f04.jpg

          • AlFromBayShore

Remember what I said about being funny. I’ve come to learn that it is a skill that can be learned. Anyone can practice.

          • Suthrnboy

“I will give you everything. I am the only one!” Trump.

            Now thats funny!

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

Trump was hired for one reason. To Troll people like you. He has succeeded beyond our wildest dreams… you just cannot stop talking about him.

          • AlFromBayShore

I’ve counted eight Trump references and four Nazi references, as well as several about Milo. Keep in mind that Suthrnboy was the only person to invoke these, AND he did so on a comments thread about…. wait for it….. funding a comic book.

I think it reasonable to believe that Suthrnboy has no interest in contributing to the funding campaign. I also think it reasonable to believe that Suthrnboy only came here to speak about his obsession. He cannot help himself.

          • Man of the Atom

Sad really. And such a weak-sauce troll to boot. Ah, well. No doubt the God Emperor will always engender such things in the cowardly SJW breast. Nothing to do but mock and carry on.

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

Of course not. SJW’s always double down.

          • Suthrnboy

Thanks for admitting you have a diva social media troll for president! I agree completely!

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

            You are welcome. Trump 2020.

          • Suthrnboy

            Donald Trump-W.L.B.O.T.U.S-2020!

Whiny Little Bitch Of The United States Of America! I just love paying for a billionaire’s makeup and mani/pedi team and tee times with my taxes!

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

You must really love him if the only criticism you can muster stems from his appearance.

          • Suthrnboy

Oh, poor boy. Reading is fundamental. Whiny little bitch makes zero reference to his appearance. But for your information, I also refer to him as a draft dodging, trust fund baby, bankruptcy/divorce addict who golfs more than Barack Obama and Tiger Woods combined.

            So there’s that….

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

Still doesn’t have a thing to do with his acts or policies, little girl.

          • Suthrnboy

I know right? There was a horror movie written about Trump’s policies. It was called ‘The Grudge 3-Obama Obsession.’

          • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

please do not feed the trolls. It lessens their fear of humans.

          • The Deuce

Please. If conservatives actually wanted to fuck their guns, you guys would declare them an oppressed group and add them to your LGBTTIGNWHREUIGNSERIUEG designations.

          • Suthrnboy

“declare them an oppressed group and add them to your LGBTTIGNWHREUIGNSERIUEG designations.”

You’re way behind! Long ago, we added you sociopaths to the “LC” grouping. Lost Cause.

Family values? Nope. Trump, Yiannoupolous, Larry Craig, Dennis Hastert, Mark Foley….the list is long. Even your favorite news network, owned by an Australian, is nicknamed Sexual-Assault-R-Us!

Fiscal Responsibility? Nope. Isn’t conservative’s admission that Reagan and W. Bush had to explode the deficit to fight the Soviet Union and the War on Terror, respectively, a tacit admission that your philosophy doesn’t work under real life circumstances? I believe it is. Remember Dick “Deficits don’t matter” Cheney? Good one!

Security? Not even close. 241 Marines blown to smithereens in Beirut 1983 under your God Reagan, with nary a response. WMD gossip girl B.S. after 9/11, attacking Iraq while coddling the Pakistan government, who were hiding Bin Laden the whole time. It took a Kenyan usurper/community organizer to figure it our for ya, fer Pete’s sake!

Your political party is a sewer of failure. Were it not for the elitist, anti-democratic Electoral College, your party would have been relegated to the dustbin of history by now, and America would have been spared your perverted white grievance nonsense/traitorous neo-con war for profit mongering.

          • gramps

You seem a little…….obsessed? I think you confusing true conservatives for the neo-cucks that are no different than warmonger Hillary.

          • Suthrnboy

If more than 140 characters equals “obsession”, you know you are a social media junkie Gossip Girl, poorly educated Trump cultist.

            Own it!

          • T Nick

You’re going to need more lube and will need to switch hands soon.

          • Suthrnboy

          • F Harper

“Even your favorite news network, owned by an Australian, is nicknamed Sexual-Assault-R-Us!”

That post didn’t age well. How’s your boy Harvey W. doing? I heard he had a sudden urge to visit Europe.

Harvey Wienstein is a scumbag that will definitely be elevated to the top of the G.O.P. (Grabber Of Pussy) party in 2020, once the current pansy, pervy molester leaves office in shackles.

Maybe Hannity will have Weinstein appear on his show with Bill OReilly and Roger Ailes to discuss conservative’s acceptance of molesters as POTUSs?

Can you tell my why all the Trump women stand like this, perv? If you don’t know, I can tell you….

          • F Harper

            SJWs always project.

It must really suck to live with so much emotional pain and cognitive dissonance.

          • Suthrnboy

Shouldn’t you be busy getting your tray of Oxycontin and cigs ready for tonight’s Duck Dynasty bingefest, pansy?

          • F Harper

            Obama-26, Trump 50. Fifty!?!

Yes, Trump is certainly making good on his promise to roll back the new regulations and executive orders that Obama created. You do realize that that is what most of Trump’s executive orders have done, right?

You guys really need to lay off the meth. its seriously affecting your mental faculties.

Again, SJWs always project. Among heavy drug users, the ratio of Democrats to Republicans was more than 8-to-1. That’s hardly surprising when you realize that leftists tend to be low in conscientiousness, high in openness and high in neuroticism, all of which also correlate to drug use. All the barely-functional, drug-addled fiends willing to lie, cheat and steal for their next fix? Those are in your camp, jackass.

          • Suthrnboy

See? That wasn’t so hard. I knew you could admit to your cognitive dissonance! “Trump executive orders good, Obama’s bad” is the BEST example yet!

I should have known all that whining you meth mouths did for years over Obama’s golfing and executive order signings was because he didn’t do enough of each!!!

“All the barely-functional, drug-addled fiends willing to lie, cheat and
steal for their next fix? Those are in your camp, jackass.”

Clearly you’ve never heard of West Virginia. Typical for a “poorly educated’, Trump U. grad….

          • F Harper

“Trump executive orders good, Obama’s bad” is the BEST example yet!

And for that, you win the Special Olympics Debate Team trophy. Congratulations, you earned it.

          • Suthrnboy

Huh? You are a slow one, aren’t you?

Those words, “Trump executive orders good, Obama’s bad” were yours, not mine. AND like the good little Trumpy the Twitter Troll Clown cultist you are, you make fun of the disabled to boot?

I’ll bet that will get you the “Sociopath/Groupie of the Year” award from Trump University!

Welp! Not that making fun of you isn’t fun, but its starting to bore me. Besides, since you lost your job when Obama gave it to an immigrant or sent it overseas where Trump’s suits and ties are made, you have that application for Trump’s makeup and mani/pedi team in the new White House Glam Office to complete.

I’ll leave you to it and give you the last word, pansy.

          • F Harper

Yes, I think you’ve embarrassed yourself quite enough.

          • T Nick

Is it difficult for you to type with one hand?

          • Suthrnboy

Sorry. I’m only on here to make fun of Donald Trump and his army of reality TV star cultists, not indulge in your nasty online sex talk.

There are sites for that sort of thing, perv.

          • Lowgan

says the guy who posts images depicting autoeroticism through the use of firearms.

          • Suthrnboy

Huh? I thought it was “semi-autoeroticism”?

You must have a bump stock attached to your firearm/sex toy!

        • F Harper

SJWs keep getting funnier. Unintentional self-deprecating humor is the best.

          • Suthrnboy

Hey pansy! While you’re busy getting ready for this weekend’s Bowling Green Massacre Remembrance/Hitler Youth rally mashup, be sure the swastikas on your pathetic signs turn to the right, not the left.

            To the right.

          • F Harper

This crap is funny as hell. It was good, conservative Christians like my grandfather and his brothers that landed in Normandy and pushed the Germans back. Even your incontinent shit-slinging can’t tarnish the heroism shown by those brave men.

          • Suthrnboy

So what your saying is, your brave grandfather and his brothers were anti-fascists? Awesome!!!! Why do modern conservatives consider anti-fascist to be an SJW insult? I’ll bet they are completely ashamed of you or rolling in their graves, you being a pathetic white supremacist/reality TV star groupie and all.

Also, I hope they weren’t P.OW.s. Draft dodger Trump prefers soldiers who weren’t captured.

      • borderwalker

        Guys, don’t touch the poop.

Always look at the Disqus profile and history before responding. If you see someone cutting-and-pasting the same semi-literate insults across dozens of sites, you’ll know you’re dealing with a juvenile, not-very-smart, and possibly compulsive troll.

        • Tecumseh1768

His comments here stopped right about the time Harvey Weinstein skipped to Europe……just saying. ;D

Is there anyway to get the hardcover for those of us who don’t live in the US??

    • william_the_conqueror

Yes. Just cram your address in the template. Even though the template is based on US Postal Service. But they’ll figure out what address you mean and post it to you. We’re informed that international postage is included. Vox himself lives in Italy anyway.

      • Eumaios

Fantastic! Thanks for the info. I’ll grab one. Great job on defeating King Harold by the way. It’s shame the kingdom you conquered is getting invaded again, by numbers far greater than you had.

        • william_the_conqueror

          hahaha very gud comeback.

Note there are even 3 hardcovers now. I’ve simply purchased all three of them.

This is kinda silly. I sold my Superman et al comics as a boy of 11 years of age, for 50p formation my old and used issues. I haven’t really read superhero comics since. Feels almost giddy, like remembering the time as a boy.

          🙂

  • Death Ray

I’m still on the fence about pledging. A commentor on VD’s blog asked my question for me:

“Are these books actually going to be mass produced and
sold in stores in the US (i.e., distributed through Diamond), or will
fulfillment be through a print-on-demand service? The pledge drive’s original ask suggests the latter.”

    • Frank Earl

Do keep in mind that this is to FUND the thing and does not equate to a purchase.

So very, very many people think that Crowdfunding is purchasing. Nope.

      • Death Ray

Exactly. You may end up with nothing.

        • Dave

You still on the fence? Seems like a big decision for you.

          • Death Ray

Who the hell are these guys running this site? One is a photographer and the other is some Alex Jones-style crank. I don’t hand over my Visa number that quickly.

          • Dave

            Virtual card numbers, shopsafe, bitcoin…

          • william_the_conqueror

He’s just a concern troll. He’s not on the fence at all ; he’s patently lying. I don’t mind at all who has my Amex Platinum credit card details…… Amex will cancel any dodgy payment which I’m disputing. Totally made up non-issue.

          • Dave

True but here people respond to him unlike his Medium articles. Probably more comments on this Freestartr page than all of his articles combined.

          • blevisrotor

            Bitcoin won’t work!!

So, someone at Vox Popoli crunched the numbers on this fundraiser and things may not exactly be adding up. from https://voxday.blogspot.com/2017/10/volume-vi-is-go.html?showComment=1507055647202#c3167912466488327113

“@50 “How much money do you think artists, colors, inkers, and printers want for six complete comic books?”

[answer] Full color art with lettering will not run Vox less than $125.00 per page (although the guy who drew the “Rebel”art will probably work for a ham sandwich). Vox has indicated that the only confirmed print edition, with issues 1-3 (144 pages) will be printed through a POD digital printer, and the cost with shipping will be $13.17 per unit to each customer. The hardcovers will be a little pricier, about $18.11. Counting the number of pledgers who are owed books as of right now, the printing and shipping costs of the books will be $8555.00, and artists costs for six books (which he is now on the hook for, thanks to stretch goals) should at minimum be $36,000.

500 units of the Rebel figurine will cost about $5200.00 to produce.

    49 T-shirts will run about $735.00

Add that all up and Vox’s costs right now are $50,490

    Currently
the pledge drive has raised $62,195. Freestartr gets 15% off the top,
and of what remains, another 10% minimum will go to taxes.

    Do the math.”

The math is that, at least at the point that the pledge drive reached $62,195, Vox’s net would be $47, 579, with likely costs being $50,490.

How quickly would you work to complete six books that were costing you more than you were taking in?

Vox should address this with a Kickstarter-style breakdown of his actual expenses. $125.00 per page for art is dirt cheap. Is he paying them less? If so, that would save money, but then, how much effort do you think the artists will put in to turn out this product in a timely manner?

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

Vox replies, in the blog: https://voxday.blogspot.com/2017/10/captain-europa-makes-his-pitch.html#c7282570813842655613

We will get it done, and in a timely manner. He is forgetting three things. 1) He doesn’t know our actual costs for anything, 2) We will make additional income selling the books, t-shirts, and remaining figurines, and 3) we produce books that cost more than we make from them initially every single time we publish a book.

He may know about the conventional comics business, but he knows nothing about ours. I can assure everyone, we will not be, and mathematically cannot be, in the red on this at any step along the way. My background is in economics, after all.

      • Death Ray

The commentor (“Vox Diabolus”. Har har.) responded:

“Actually, the only thing that is uncertain is how much
Vox is paying his artists and naturally, this is the biggest chunk of
the price (the printing/shipping costs come from Vox’s own disclosure of
his printer)But lest anyone be under any illusions:

        1) A fast professional cartoonist can do a single page of comic book art, penciled
and inked, in eight hours. Coloring takes about ninety minutes a page,
lettering about an hour. So, at a steady clip, every page of Alt-Hero
will comprise ten to eleven hours of work. But let’s be generous and say
that Vox’s crew cuts corners and can do the whole job in nine hours per
page. At $14.00 an hour, you get a page of art costing about $125.00.
And who would work for less than that? (Maybe the guy who drew that
cringy picture of “Rebel”! Check out his Twitter, @JingerZilla, and
bring a vomit bag. But the guy who drew the artwork with the tank is
fairly competent. If his style is consistent, he will certainly require
the minimum page rate, and probably more.

        $125.00 x 288 pages spread out over six issues = $36,000

(Also, ain’t it about time to find out who the talent is? Because the joke is
on you if you pledged 70k only to receive JingerZilla’s best.)

        2) The cost of the Rebel figurine is pretty easy to surmise if you know what
sculptor’s charge. $1200 for the sculpt, and eight dollars per unit x
        500 units is my guess.

        3) Vox will undoubtedly use a POD service like Zazzle for the tees (though I suppose it will be Cryptofashion).
Either way, $8.00 per unit (wholesale) and $7.00 for shipping has to be
        in the ballpark.

        4) As for fulfillment, It’s up to the pledgers if they want to operate on a wing and a prayer. Why would anyone throw
their money at a project like this without SOME notion of a delivery date? I guess Vox knows his audience. He may know them well enough to
sell enough digital copies of this bilge to make it a worthwhile venture. But really: an off-off brand work of superhero schlock drawn by
hacks, with the hook of “white people beating up blacks”? Have you ever been to a Comic-Con, Vox?

With no plans to sell Alt-Hero in comic shops, the entire profit must be coming from the drive itself.
The good news is that if the drive reaches 70K, then there will be enough in the kitty for Vox to fulfill his obligations and still pay
himself. If it comes in less than that, expect to get half of what you pledged for, at best. Someday.”

(BTW, here’s some of that JingerZilla art)

        https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/67079bdc23f0bf939fe01eb6bf7223c8b8fdda0e17f14cd8401c7b05570d4d40.jpg

        • Brigadon ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ✓

Ironically enough, I wouldn’t even mind a comic like this being done in Jinger Zilla’s style. It’s obviously not the best, but the guy does know how to draw hands.

          The train is fine. Lol.

        • Carl Philipp Gaebler

          Yeah, he’s trolling.

Markku (one of the Castalia higher-ups) laid down some logic in the comments, do a search: http://voxday.blogspot.com/2017/10/captain-europa-makes-his-pitch.html

The core of his objection is that the crowdfunding is just about going to break even. Which Markku dissects:

“He correctly calculated that the Freestartr is designed to not make a profit under any circumstances. (Because that’s how crowdfunding works, you’re not supposed to profit from the backers).

          […]

Matthew, perhaps at this point would be appropriate to post the photo of your Castalia shelf again, of most of the books (not counting at least AToB and Summa) already on sale, that we funded completely out of our own pockets.”

Vox Diabolus is STILL operating under the assumption that this enterprise can’t possibly make any money because there is no way to economically sell and distribute a print version. Which is absurd, because Castalia House does so all the time.

          The photo is here:

          https://i.imgur.com/8mAk0d4.jpg

Normally they eat the initial cost, and then make a profit off of selling the books online. The fact that Alt-Hero will have production costs paid for ahead of time, gives it a leg UP on most Castalia House productions. For one, they already KNOW there’s a market, more than they know for most of the books they publish.

  • RockstarRepublic

Lets hope the art gets a vast improvement due to crowdfunding success. Actually just paying a known illustrator to do a cover will probably increase the likelihood of more funding.

    • Joshua

Yeah. That art is atrocious. It almost seems like it might be hard to find a real artist who would work for these kind of nazi scumbags.

      • RockstarRepublic

They are not NAZIs. The last panels are not bad, its actually better than a lot of the published work out there. Some of it is indeed bad, but that can be fixed with better artist. There are tons out there who are not on board with where the SJW’s are taking (aka ruining) the industry.

        • william_the_conqueror

Lol. Why you reply to the concern troll. And he’s answered himself. Don’t bother! 😉

        • william_the_conqueror

Check out Vox blog. Indeed they have a “big league” artist now contracted. Not that I know much about who’s who in comics, but this seems fairly obvious.

  • RivalTech

Is this comic series appropriate for pre-teen and teen readers?

    • william_the_conqueror

I would expect teenage to be fine.

  • PaulMurrayCbr

A European employer wouldn’t boast about their health-care package, with dental included. The only industrialised nation without a sane public health system is the USA. Citizens of other countries don’t live in fear of losing their jobs and then getting injured or sick.

    • borderwalker

You’re absolutely correct; a European employer in this world (or even a realistic novel set in it) probably wouldn’t boast about his health-care package.

On the other hand, a European supervillain in a comic book about an alternate universe might, and even plausibly so.

But, I suspect you were in too big a hurry to disqualify this project (and take a gratuitous whack at the United States) to think about that.

      Good job.

      • Dr.T

Sorry, but “boasting about health-care with dental included is so American” was also my first thought upon reading this page. The equivalent in those European states I have lived in would be “we pay for private health insurance”. As the European Union in the world of Alt-Hero seems to be as SJW-converged as the real one, it is bound to have a strong public health care system – with a lot of cost-limiting measures that one can bypass by having private health insurance.

        • borderwalker

Implausibility is in the eye of the beholder, then.

If it rang false enough (to you) to pull you out of the story, you have a point. The scene made my bullshit detector twitch, but I thought, “hey, it’s written by (mostly) Americans for a (mostly) American audience, so this scene will resonate with anyone who has ever been offered a job in the US”, and went right back to the story. (That scene also resonates with anyone familiar with the Temptations of Christ; definitely more US than European in flavor.)

PaulMurrayCbr wasn’t content to point that out. Then again, I suspect that he is (1) not the target audience, and (2) will not be supporting this campaign.

My main point was “you’re nitpicking about health care delivery methods in a comic book“. Given the genre, Captain Europa’s boast is about #147 on the List of Implausible Things in This Story.

A creator of popular entertainment is will constantly be deciding between realism/plausibility and story. For example, if one knows proper gun handling or radio discipline, popular entertainment (at least of the US variety) is consistently cringe-inducing.

Still, movies, television, and novels constantly deviate from real-world practice because it would, among other things, be really tedious to watch/read something where every line of transmitted dialogue began with two identifiers and ended with the word “over” or “out”.

    • kv11

My employer made health care + dental part of my offer. Private healthcare exists in Europe

    At last we have it!

Q: What is the goal of Alt-Hero?

A: To poke SJWs in the eye. To antagonize them. To piss in their Cheerios.

Q: Really? It isn’t to make a great comic book?

A: Great comics are read by our enemies! When we make schlock, they are weakened and we grow stronger!

Q: When will Alt-Hero be released?

A: We trust Vox Day. Vox Day is a trustworthy man of trustableness.

    Q: How about a ballpark estimate? 2019?

A: One does not make demands of the Dread Lord!

Q: It’s just, there are a lot more moving pieces to a project with
multiple artists and products… if you don’t have a time horizon it’s
really easy to lose interest in fulfillment. Ask anyone who has run a
    Kickstarter.

A: Kool-Aid time! Grape or Cherry?

Q: Why won’t you tell us who the artists are? Is it because they suck?

A: Blasphemy! Even the Dread Lord has confirmed that the art runs the gamut from “alright” to “not particularly good”!

Q: If Vox Day is an editor, why do the pages he’s released show such
terrible design? The word balloons don’t fill the panels in a pleasing
way, and they touch the critical artwork unnecessarily. Do you know what
    a “tangent” is?

A: No one said fighting immigrants would be pretty.

Q: Do the people paying 5k for the honor of creating a character for Alt-Hero own that character?

A: We will obviously have an irrevocable, perpetual license to use the character any way we see fit.

Q: Why is that “obvious”? Is that spelled out somewhere on the campaign page?

A: It’s mentioned in the metatags.

    Q: But…

A: For all intents and purposes, it will be our character, just like any character in the Alt-Hero universe.

Q: So they WON’T own the characters? See, a “perpetual license” isn’t the
same as “work for hire”. Are you going to make it clear to these guys
that once they hand over a character they have been developing on their
own, perhaps since childhood, it’s gone forever?

    A: REEEEEE!

Q: Don’t stretch goals usually add value to a pledge? Your 70k stretch
goal actually changed from a print edition of the second collection of
Alt-Hero to some novel… which you are not even offering as a bonus to
    your donors.

A: The bonus is to the canon of Western literature!

Q: So Alt-Hero will NOT be sold in comic shops, or at comic conventions, or at major book outlets like B&N?

    A: That is correct.

Q: So how are you going to compete with mainstream comics? I thought
Alt-Hero was supposed to be the “alternative” to comics as they exist
    today?

A: Silly, silly little man. The future of comic books is pledge drives funded by people who don’t READ comics,
who don’t care about word balloons, delivery dates or sexy wimmen. People who like the taste of Cheerios and piss!

Q: I thought that was what you were feeding the SJWs?

A: “SJW” is our word for “credit card holder”.

    • Carl Philipp Gaebler

So… dishonest concern troll who recognized a fellow troll, or literally the same person?
EDIT: Haha, oh WOW, I looked through this guy’s comment history. Yeah, I sincerely do not believe for an instant that he was ever “on the fence” about pledging to this.

      • AlFromBayShore

I’m not gonna lie. When folks said the “REEEEES!” would be audible from space, I was doubtful. Speaking only for myself, I’m completely astonished as to how these folks are responding to a comic book that has yet to be published. Think about that for a moment.

    • borderwalker

      Money talks and bullshit walks.

      Alt*Hero has $67,755, and you have…. a Disqus comment.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that you’re the same assclown who was phoning in the concern trolling over at the blog.

Well, I’m not that shocked. It was actually pretty obvious once you quoted yourself here. Sad!

  • Death Ray

“Concern troll” Vox Diabolus continues his ball-busting on Vox’s blog:

Congratulations on OFFICIALLY funding this project!

As you know, I pointed out in an earlier SCREEEEEED that technically this pledge drive would have to reach $70,000 in order to cover both production costs AND pay Vox a little to keep him interested. I did miscalculate a little: there isn’t enough YET to peel off a few bills for the author, but at least he cannot plead poverty when the bill comes due. Here’s today’s breakdown:

    Current Pledges: $70,285
    Freetartr fee: $ 10,543.00
Taxes (remember: your pledges count as income, kids!): $6703.00
Print and shipping costs for soft and hardcovers: $11,104.00
    Tees: $735.00
    Figurine: $5200,00
    Art “talent”: $36,000
    Total Costs: $70,285

Now, Markku is free to claim that he is receiving some sort of massive print discount on a grand total of 673 books, but I assure you this is bullshit. Discounts come with bulk purchasing, and unless Castalia plans on ordering a large run of Alt-Hero, any discount Markku is referring to will be measurable in a pocketful of Finnish walrus ivory coins.

The GOOD NEWS is that at around the point that Vox is on the hook for 1000 printed books, it will officially be cost effective to do an actual 2000 unit print run instead of using low quality digital POD printing! Let’s crunch THOSE numbers!

    2000 unit offset run: $13,400
Freight shipping to Castalia fulfillment center: $600.00
    Shipping to 1000 individual (mostly)US customers: $10,000

…Oh, wait. The pledge drive doesn’t charge enough for shipping to cover the freight costs from the printer, or the burdensome overseas shipping to customers. The books will have to be printed in both Europe andthe US, and two offset runs would simply not be affordable. These comics can only be fulfilled by POD.

(I guess THAT is why they won’t be in comic shops or bookstores.)

But whatever! As long as I am not misjudging the taxes Vox will have to pay on this pledge drive by about 50%, he has, as of right now, collected just enough grease to fulfill his obligations. And assuming that working for free on a comic with no after-pledge sales potential doesn’t cause Vox to become bored, I’d expect all pledgers to receive their rewards sometime within a decade!

    • Raffiniha

Are you ok friend? You seem tense

      • Carl Philipp Gaebler

He is weeping salty tears because the amateur accounting done by Somebody Who Totally Isn’t Him has failed to cause people to abandon the project en masse.
And it STILL hasn’t sunk in that Alt-Hero has not only a financial leg up, but more information about sales potential, than every one of Castalia House’s successful titles which are normally produced with out-of-pocket cost, and sold with a far less involved preview and advertising campaign.

        • AlFromBayShore

Dude, don’t say anything. I want him to continue. I’m enjoying the “REEEEEES”. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Some of us “noobs” have only heard of the free flow of salty tears masked by a faux glee. I doubted you dudes when you said the “REEEEES” will be audible from space until Death Ray showed up. I have to admit that I am strangely fascinated by his futile protests. I want to see more. This is like porn except it’s better.

          • Carl Philipp Gaebler

Ah, then you have not understood the Second Law of SJW: SJWs Always Double Down.
You see, one of the problems with these people is that they are incapable of admitting they are wrong. After all, that would mean agreeing with No Good Very Bad People. They will beat you to death with any tiny and irrelevant factual inaccuracy you make, and they will at BEST ignore any substantial mistakes of their own.
But the REAL fun comes because they resent the accusation. It offends their pride, and they cannot ignore it. And they also cannot admit they were wrong, and correct their error… so they do the exact OPPOSITE of admitting they were wrong, and exaggerate themselves into increasing insanity. I also think that sometimes when they get into the mood, they interpret “You are factually incorrect” as “Ow that hurts,” so they try to apply even more pressure, which is hilarious when they are actually wrong.
So don’t worry. This guy was all mild and flattering and just-asking-questions at first. And because that didn’t get what he wanted – because he actually had substantial errors in his criticism – now he is blustering like a lunatic, and doubling down even harder on his obvious mistakes. He is reciting “no after-pledge sales potential” like it’s a mantra. If anything, this is how you get them to become even MORE amusing.

Deeply curious to see if this is devoid of the politics the alt-right supposedly hates.

    • AlFromBayShore

One thing is certain, get yourself two plastic bags and two cardboard backings, purchase two of these comix (one to save and one to trade). This has the potential of being collector’s item. I did that with The Amazing Spider Man #300. Currently, it has been selling for about $200.00. I saw one instance in which it sold for $13,000.00 but that was an outlier.

$82,640 (as of 10/6, at ~5 pm EST) says that “…George Soros and Captain Globalist fighting Good Guy with a Gun…” would sell enough to make money. (I’d buy it.)

Let’s face it; it couldn’t be worse than “Captain Planet”, and would probably be a lot better.

The GOOD NEWS is that at around the point that Vox is on the hook for 1000
printed books, it will officially be cost effective to do an actual 2000
unit print run instead of using low quality digital POD printing! Let’s
    crunch THOSE numbers!

    2000 unit offset run: $13,400
Freight shipping to Castalia fulfillment center: $600.00
    Shipping to 1000 individual (mostly)US customers: $10,000

…Oh, wait. The pledge drive doesn’t charge enough for shipping
to cover the freight costs from the printer, or the burdensome overseas
shipping to customers. The books will have to be printed in both Europe
and the US, and two offset runs would simply not be affordable. These comics can only be fulfilled by POD.

(I guess THAT is why they won’t be in comic shops or bookstores.)

But whatever! As long as I am not misjudging the taxes Vox will have to pay on this pledge drive by about 50%, he has, as of right now,
collected just enough grease to fulfill his obligations. And assuming that working for free on a comic with no after-pledge sales potential doesn’t cause Vox to become bored, I’d expect all pledgers to receive their rewards sometime within a decade!

My oh my, how tedious it is when a weakling proclaims himself to be mighty.

Look all of you, at this rat that fancies itself a giant, are you not entertained?

Let it not be said that Vox doesn’t deliver on exactly what he promises us, the wretch’s post above is proof of this. We were promised REEEEEEES, we may yet find ourselves drowning in them.

    • Roughcoat

Have you booked an appointment with a psychotherapist to discuss your obsession with Vox Day yet? If not, you should get on that before you crack and wind up suck starting a shotgun because Senpai won’t give you the time of day.

Please, keep it up. Every time you post, I watch the pledge total go up!

This is what VD had to say on the matter on his blog:

” “Tried to support via FreeStartr but there seemed to be no option for inputting an overseas address.”

Just cram it in there somewhere. We’ll get it from the text.”

      Hope that helps.

    • william_the_conqueror

Yes. Just cram your address in the template. Even though the template is based on US Postal Service. But they’ll figure out what address you mean and post it to you. We’re informed that international postage is included. Vox himself lives in Italy anyway.

The quality of the art in this will keep it from becoming anything more than a mild protest from fragile egos. The quality of the writing and the cookie cutter premise will keep it from being read by anyone who is looking for an engaging story. I’m sorry to see all of your hard-earned $ go to waste. Hopefully the artists are paid well.

    • Thot

Wow it’s hard for SJWs to see beyond the end of their noses. Well i mean its proven every time they try to use logic to defend their stances so i guess it shouldn’t be surprising. Thats why they chant mindlessly and just spew out buzzwords. Lets see. “Muh hilbeast will win, we all know it. Praise be to muh girl power, white males are so evil and they can suck it.” Anyone with a brain could see it wasn’t going to be an easy win for her, defiantly not a land slide like hard lefties thought. Eeewwww sorry, God Emperor wins the election. SJWs throw an unending tantrum. “Muh Antifa be heroes, they so brave. They be fighters” Well, people who dont follow their leaders like cultists and have critical thinking skills can see they are violent thug terrorists. Low and behold law enforcement already knew this and it was suppressed by the lord and savior BAMA administration. What a surprise. Oh and now they are too frightened to show up because they have been unmasked and real heroes, the POLICE, can now do their jobs. How sad. That nut shot that one antifa lunatic took was HILARIOUS! Here is an oldie but a goodie, “Hands up don’t shoot, he dindu nuffin. He good boy, gunna turn hib life round.” Well low and behold that was all a lie. He never put his hands up, he assaulted an officer etc.. the left burns and loots. But no no they are the good guys. Now there is a chance that the $100,000 goal will be met and a comic book writer veteran will come on to write a few issues. This along with everything else that is starting to push back against the insanity , and i mean authentic mental illness, of the left in the comic book industry will have an affect. Each on it’s own isnt enough to change things but all together starts a avalanche. Big picture/the war not just the battle you mentally ill sad excuses of huMANity.

    • The Deuce

As I read the comments of SJWs desperately trying to talk this thing down (while actually telegraphing their deepest fears), I realize that the probability of getting to relive the Trump election when it releases is approaching 100%.

I presume that means digital editions of the comics only? Or does this include the digital edition of the first novel too? Can somebody at the campaign amd/or Freestartr please clarify? Or did Vox already clarify in his blog?

Marvel in the end will be concerned with money. It’s a business. At one time they could say they are concerned with good art and story telling but as we can see that can no longer be a claim. The stories are horrible and any good artists are fleeing to DC. Whether or not this is up to standards of a comic book company that has been around for decades is not the point. The point of this is it has raised a lot of money in a short amount of time. Could even reach 100,000 by the end. This is showing Marvel that people will pay this much for ,as some of you are putting it, sub par art and writing just to have the opposite of what marvel is producing with their “better writing” and art. When less and less people are buying your product, more and more people are criticizing your company for it’s bullshit, when your “talent” starts threatening critics hoping to physically fight them, when your “talent” is lecturing and making fun of the audience, and fans of a genre are willing to throw money like this at a complete unknown in hopes that they will produce a product opposite of what your company is doing or even just to send a message. Then your company is in danger. Marvel can either pay attention or crumble. This wont be the “knock out blow” but this is a jab that will help put their SJW nonsense on the ropes.

    • Azure Helios

SJWs always double down. They aren’t capable of rebounding off the ropes by and large, they just fall down and double up.

    • AlFromBayShore

That’s nonsense. All you are doing is screeching “waaaay-cist” because you’ve no argument. By the way, how’s that public school education workin’ out for ya’?

  • “Alt★Hero is a world not too terribly different than our own. It is a world where the Wehrmacht generals overthrew Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in 1939, and where the first atomic bomb was dropped on the order of Reichskanzler Jodl on Soviet territory in 1944, leading to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1956.”

That’s actually pretty fucking different from our own. One might say a completely alternative reality. It’s like saying that a chicken is not terribly different from a Chevrolet.

    • Thot

You could be absolutely correct. But thats whats great about world building. Those specific events could be different allowing for certain other countries to have a more robust military and political advantage on the world stage but seeing that it’s fiction you could still have events in modern times play out to something similar to what we are seeing in our back yards(er, or should i say urban centers). We will have to see.

And we all know the quickest way to make something evil or wrong to these mentally ill souls is to tack WHITE to it. If he was an illegal and his actions resulted in the deaths of american citizens then they would call him LatinX, and he would be seen as a victim and brave for his deeds and sacrifices.

  • Bart Fargo

Listen to me — all of you out there! You were told by this man — your hero — that America is the greatest country in the world! He told you that Americans were the greatest people — that America could be refined like silver, could have the impurities hammered out of it, and shine more brightly! He went on about how precious America was — how you needed to make sure it remained great! And he told yiout anything was justified to preserve that great treasure, that pearl of great price that is America!

Well, I saw America is nothing! Without its ideals — its commitment to the freedom of all men, America is a piece of trash! A nation is nothing! A flag is a piece of cloth!

I fought Adolf Hitler not because America was great, but because it was fragile! I knew that liberty could as easily be snuffed out here as in Nazi Germany! As a people, we were no different from them! When I returned, I saw that you nearly did turn America into nothing! And the only reason you’re not less than nothing — is that it’s still possible for you to bring freedom back to America!”

    -Captain America

    • Thot

Who’s run was that on? Captain America is a fictional character that people with agendas can make say anything. It seems silly you need that explained to you but I’m not sure how delusional you are or maybe i misunderstand the point you are trying to get across. Agreed, it is possible for freedom to be in America but it’s also trying to be stunted by lefty ideology and abandonment of laws. Laws are needed for a civil society. Lefty ideology, For instance claims that speech is equivalent to violence. That is trying to limit speech because of peoples feelings. That physical violence toward people who are not committing physical violence to anyone else is ok. Just as long as you line up properly with the “correct” group think. That we should have compelled speech laws. That certain thoughts and ideas and criticisms should be censored from the internet. That a country shouldnt have a say on who enters and gets to stay. That certain scientific studies should be taboo because of feels. And just the double standards on race, gender, and culture the left seems to have.

      • Bart Fargo

You are a very silly person and are trying to defend a comic book made by a bunch of tiny-dicked racists by instead making unrelated arguments about people trying to police your speech (spoiler: they aren’t) and whining about “certain scientific studies” being off-limits despite the fact that you and your ilk use garbage, debunked pseudoscience to justify your views all the damn time.

You want to make your stupid, hate-filled, deliberately misrepresentative propaganda piece of a comic book? Go right ahead. But crying about people using their same rights to point out that it’s a stupid, hate-filled, deliberately misrepresentative propaganda piece seems a bit rich coming from the “but free speech!” crowd.

And just for funsies, here’s a video of all of your beloved alt-right heroes banding together singing “America the Beautiful” and making Nazi salutes just in case they didn’t make it clear enough what they believed in:

this guy sure likes to talk about small dicks. By the third law of SJWs, we can confidently conclude this ‘man’ is in fact hugely self conscious about the size (or lack thereof) of his puny pecker.

          • Bart Fargo

I’ve got no problem with having a tiny dick, bu then again I’m not the ones projecting all my insecurities and failures as a man into blaming “SJWs”, people who don’t look like me, or “the system” in general.

          • Eric English

“I’ve got no problem with having a tiny dick”

Oh, you’re ok with it? That’s good I guess.

          • Bart Fargo

Better to have a tiny dick and not be a desperately insecure shell of a man who prefers to terrorize minorities and women instead of address his own failings and insecurities, rather than have a tiny dick AND be a desperately insecure shell of a man who prefers to terrorize
minorities and women instead of address his own failings and
            insecurities.

Helpful hint: trying to mock someone who genuinely doesn’t give a shit about your completely arbitrary definitions of masculinity as being un-masculine is really not going to be a productive strategy for you.

          • Roughcoat

Stop menstruating, Bart. Nobody cares what you think.

          • Bart Fargo

Triggered much, snowflake? Apparently to your tiny but angry little authoritarian brains calling someone a woman is supposed to be hurtful, which speaks volumes about how insecure you all really are.

P.S. Nobody cares about your dumb comic book and it will inevitably be a massive waste of all the money you all could have spent on tiki torches.

          • Roughcoat

No, not really triggered. I am mildly amused. I don’t think it’s even possible for a derpy effeminate grub like you to trigger me, but by all means, keep trying.

And please, work on your logic. If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t be here calling people names and saying nobody cares. When normal people actually don’t care about something, they ignore it, you see.

          • Bart Fargo

Again with using female language as insults. When’s the last time you got laid? I bet if you ever got a woman to willingly let you feel some boobs or vagina you’d be a whole lot less uptight.

And please allow me to clarify: I don’t care about your comic book, and nor will the rest of society. I do care, however, about telling you retrograde man-children exactly what I think of you and your attempts to hide bigotry and hated behind the thinnest of veneers. And since you dipshits are currently too cowardly to show yourselves again post-Charlottesville for more than a few minutes at a time, I have to come visit you here in your safe spaces and remind you all once again that you have tiny dicks.

          • Roughcoat

The projection is strong with this one. You’re trying to injure me with the insults you fear–because you know they are true about you–but they have no effect on me because they’re objectively false.

I don’t hide my beliefs about anything behind veneers of any sort. I openly state what I believe, and IDGAF if people don’t like it. I seriously doubt you have the first idea what my beliefs are, though.

And calling a man effeminate is not an insult to women any more than calling a woman masculine is an insult to men. It’s an insult to the man in question, because neither normal men nor normal women respect effeminate men. Game tip: white knighting for women in general is not going to help get your dick wet.

          • Bart Fargo

“The projection is strong with this one. You’re trying to injure me with the insults you fear–because you know they are true about you–but they have no effect on me because they’re objectively false.

I am literally doing the exact opposite. Calling me “effeminate”, to “stop menstruating”, etc. don’t actually bother me because I don’t buy into the bullshit arbitrary alpha-male nonsense you think is actually true. Nevertheless, you do have a tiny dick and because you do believe in bullshit arbitrary alpha-male nonsense I know it bothers you, so it bears repeating.

I don’t hide my beliefs about anything behind veneers of any sort. I openly state what I believe, and IDGAF if people don’t like it. I
seriously doubt you have the first idea what my beliefs are, though.

So you’re openly white supremacist. How brave of you to be that way on the internet. How about telling your family or your boss what you really believe? You know, that you believe that whites are the superior race, that the Jews secretly control everything, that we should resort to “peaceful ethnic cleansing” to get rid of minorities. Some of you believe that democracy is ineffective and that a strongman is needed, others think that LGBT people need to be shoved back in the closet and locked away. And of course, as we’ve already noted, you hate women, especially the ones that have succeeded where you haven’t (and I’m guessing there are many of those).

Quite simply, this is who you are, a bunch of racist assholes in a bar, singing bad karaoke. I can’t think of a better encapsulation of you and your “movement”:
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLNLPIRS62g

And calling a man effeminate is not an insult to women any more than
calling a woman masculine is an insult to men. It’s an insult to the man
in question, because neither normal men nor normal women respect
effeminate men. Game tip: white knighting for women in general is not
going to help get your dick wet.

Do you know what words actually mean? You literally just say that calling someone effeminate is not an insult, but then you double down and say that when applied to men it’s an insult.

And thanks for dropping the term “white knight”, which means all I need now to win my game of “bigot dipshit bingo” is for you to mention either “PC culture” or “cultural marxism.” Believe it or not, not every interaction or relationship with women involves sex, but I guess I have the luxury of not having to think like you do as I actually do get laid on the regular, mostly due to the fact that I’m not a retrograde neckbeard with palpable seething resentment.

          • Roughcoat

Good luck finding evidence I ever said the things you claim I must believe, fool.

  • Bart Fargo

If this comic reflects your reality does that mean every male character has a tiny dick and never, ever gets laid?

    • Thot

Not an argument. AND HOW DARE YOU ASSUME MY GENDER YOU MISOGYNIST ASSHOLE! I bet you voted for Trump.

      • Bart Fargo

Either way, you’ve still got a tiny dick.

        • AlFromBayShore

Your fixation on Thot’s genitalia has nothing to do with the comic. I could understand if you were to present critiques of the backstory, the art, and the formatting but you didn’t do that. You are leading people to believe that the only reason you comment is that you want to reveal your fixation on other people’s genitalia. Stop fixating on other people’s genitalia and present meaningful commentary on the comic. Do better.

          • Bart Fargo

Gee, you alt-right boys sure do loving using homosexual and feminine terms and as insults. As I helpfully pointed out before, mocking for me isn’t gonna work because I don’t see anything wrong with being into wangs.

But you want criticism? Here you go: your comic book looks like it was drawn by a racist 5-year old and is a deliberate misrepresentation of your backwards, idiotic views in order to make them seem palatable to larger society. Statistically there are very few illegal immigrants attacking white women in back alleys as illegal immigrants are actually less likely to commit a crime than native-born Americans. And then there’s your sexy little Rebel character, who is supposed to be national hero by wearing the flag of a bunch of traitors who started their own country for the specific purpose of having slaves? Seems logical to me.

            This is who you are:

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLNLPIRS62g

A bunch of whiny fuckboys singing a song in a dingy bar and making Nazi salutes. And when you’re not doing that you’re running over people with cars.

Go fuck yourselves, every single one of you.

          • AlFromBayShore

            1) Your first paragraph is projection. I’m not one who brought genitalia, you did.

            2) The comic does not look like a five year old drew it, that’s blatantly lying. I’ll post something drawn by a five year old in order to reveal how silly you are.

            3) I have no idea what you mean by “backwards, idiotic views…” made to “…seem palatable to larger society.” That makes no sense when this comic has far exceeded is funding goals. Obviously its not for the “larger society”, it’s for those who fund it and others who are willing to spend cash on what is purported to be a good story. All you are doing is saying “you guys are terrible people because the larger society rejects you…” You sound like Carrie’s mother when she says “They’re all gonna laugh at you!” This sheds light on your mentality – you derive your sense of self (and esteem) from social acceptance and you project that on the persons and things YOU don’t accept. Oh, and you are projecting again. Nice job!

            4) Your grasp of the causes of the American Civil War is, at best, simplistic. Yes indeed slavery was the major factor that exacerbated the sectional tensions that ultimately led to secession but it was sectionalism that caused the Civil War. Sectionalism was a series of factors that include but is not limited to slavery. All you have to do is read a history book about that time period you’ll see how in the lead up to secession and war issues such as tariffs (See Nullification Crisis), differing economic interests, and theories on governance played a role in fomenting the tensions which resulted in people of the South developing a loyalty to their region that was greater than that of a national loyalty. I’ll conclude by saying you’re ignorant on this period in history, please educate yourself: “ARE-EEE-AY-DEE-AY-BEE-OH…. okay?”.

            5) You must be referring to the incident at Charlottesville. You don’t know how that woman died, you are making an assumption based no facts at all. It might be wise to wait for the evidence from the criminal trial to be produced. Experience has shown that making wild assumptions about an incident before the facts are known renders those who made those assumptions to be ignorant. Remember what people first said about Trayvon Martin? Y’all thought George Zimmerman stalked and attacked Martin BUT the evidence presented in the criminal trial revealed the opposite to be true. Stop being ignorant.

            6) Stop letting butt-hurt cause to to descend and devolve into mindless insult. It makes appear like a little bitch. Stop being a little bitch.

Oh yeah, here is the drawing done by a five year old, and it’s one of the better ones This will not only show you to be a liar, it also shows that your lies are poorly thought out. If you are going to engage in hyperbole then do it properly.

1). You have a tiny dick. Let’s not forget this point.

2). I revise my opinion. It looks like it was drawn by a talented 5-year old.

3). Just because your dumb book met its crowdfunding goals doesn’t mean it is, or ever will be, a sign of social acceptance. You are deliberately attempting to portray illegal immigrants as vicious criminals, even though they aren’t, and people who support the Confederate flag as heroes, even though they committed treason for a nation specifically founded on slavery. And yes, I am such a beta cuck for thinking it’s not nice to attack or demonize other people in society and that it is indeed socially acceptable to tolerate and respect others.

4). More alt-right gish-galloping. IT WAS ABOUT SLAVERY. Don’t believe me? Let’s ask some Confederates themselves

“Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its
foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that
the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to
the superior race is his natural and normal condition.”

5). More whataboutism to hide a pathetic argument. She was killed by one of you motherfuckers, who deliberately drove into a crowd of protesters. We have video, we have his social media loaded with far-right fuckwit imagery. Also, as usual you have zero evidence for your Zimmerman claims.

6). You criticize me for using “mindless insults” and then call me a “little bitch” in the next sentence.

The fact that all you can do is call me a liar and point out unrelated facts for something clearly intended to be an insult is pretty telling. Alt-reichers not being able tot argue coherently or defend their views coherently? Quelle suprise.

Also, you have a tiny dick.

          • AlFromBayShore

I got your Civil War causes for ya’.

“This incident [The Nullification Crisis] further irritated relations between the North and South, as it almost resulted in military intervention. It also ended with a southern state still declaring that it had the right to defy the federal government; a belief without which the Civil War could never have begun.”

            https://sites.google.com/site/politicalcausesofcivilwar/nullification-crisis

Once again, sectionalism caused the Civil War. Slavery was a major issue that cannot be discounted but it was not the only issue. Clearly you are not as informed on American history as you believe.

And the George Zimmerman thing, I watched the entire criminal trial. Based on what you have said, it’s obvious that you didn’t do that. Perhaps you should watch it THEN comment on it. Just sayin’.

Hey dude, when are you going to link articles that contradict your argument? I’ve been looking forward to that. I hope I didn’t pop the popcorn in vain.

Sweet visual storytelling on the new pages. Really well done. Word balloons need work for readability on tablets, as they’re right on the edge for printed works: webcomics like SSSS might be helpful. I’ll definitely be upgrading my pledge to get paperbacks of all the stretch goal goodness.

Nature abhors a vacuum. Marvel has created a one in the area of comic books, trying to change their escapist nature to a tool of anti-civilization indoctrination. This is one of the answers. Getting two major talents from the industry shows this is a legitimate effort. The funding level underscores that.

FreeStartr has no mechanism for INCREASING your contribution to a higher level. This is a gargantuan error. It should be dead easy to give creators more money. That’s the raison d’etre of the site!

Ostensibly one can email support to cancel one’s order, then start from scratch with a new contribution. This is tedious and time consuming. 2 days of waiting, and they still haven’t responded.

I’d like to increase my contribution. Is anyone at FreeStartr willing to help me help them make a little more money?

Curious, what is your original order? And, what would you like to add-on? I don’t work for them, but we might be able to figure it out.

I added on a Hardcover for the Avalon set, easy.

Why don’t you use the “Donate Now” box to add new contributions? I’ve selected ebook #1, paperback and paperback add-ons; each time receiving email confirmation. Also go to “My Dashboard – Contribution History” to verify each one.

    • It’s in the works. In the meantime send an email to [email protected] and we’ll take care of you.

Supporting. To hell with Marvel…they can keep their new found SJW fandom…whom don’t buy their products in mass anyway.

How come EU exists in a world where Hitler was removed from power in 1939 and Soviet Union collapsed in 1956?

    • Dr.T

The idea was already making its rounds after World War 1. The Pan-Europe League was founded in 1923, the Memorandum on the organisation of a system of European Federal Union was published in 1930, and so on.

      • AlFromBayShore

Slightly off topic…. I think. History is full with examples of attempts, both failed and successful, to consolidate regional authorities under a centralizing power.

Re: the artwork in the military storyline: Not to be a wet blanket, but the Army hasn’t worn green Class-A uniforms for some time now. They now wear what used to be their dress blue uniform.
